HK Billionaire Buys U.S. Hotels For $570M

Hong Kong billionaire Cheng Yu-tung has acquired five luxury hotels from Maritz, Wolff & Company and Rosewood for around $570 million.

Hong Kong billionaire Cheng Yu-tung has acquired five luxury hotels from Maritz, Wolff & Company and Rosewood for around $570 million, Bloomberg The deal includes Maritz, Wolff’s Santa Fe-based Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi and Rosewood Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands.

The other hotels being sold by include Manhattan-based Carlyle Hotel, Dallas-based Rosewood Crescent Hotel and Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. A unit of Cheng family-owned New World Development is acquiring luxury hotelier Rosewood Hotels & Resorts for $229.5 million from Maritz Wolff and Rosewood.
