Cemex is seeking to obtain $213 million in local debt, Reuters reports. The deal comprises the sale of five-year local bonds. HSBC Mexico’s trust will issue receivables-backed local notes for Cemex’s divisions.

The sale proceeds will be partly used to refinance high debt obligations and to prepay notes due to mature in December 2011. The Mexican cement maker intended to sell $650 million in notes last month.
