Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) and a group of South Korean energy firms and a utility will commit around $2 billion to gas and power projects in Indonesia, Reuters reports. The investment will help the companies secure gas supply.
The power project will involve development of small and medium-sized gas fields, compressed natural gas (CNG) transport facilities and a 750-megawatt power plant in Banten province. Investors in the CNG project will include KEPCO, KOGAS and KNOC, while investors for the power plant will be KEPCO and Indonesian state utility, Perusahaan Listrik Negara.
