The Ford Foundation has appointed two new officials to lead its offices in South U.S

The Ford Foundation has appointed two new officials to lead its offices in South U.S. Myriam Mendez-Montalvo has joined as a representative for the Santiago office, while Nilcea Freire as representative for the foundation’s office in Brazil, based in Rio de Janeiro.

Mendez-Montalvo has replaced Martin Abregu, who has become director of global rights and governance for the foundation, while Freire has succeeded Ana Toni, who is now chairperson of the board of directors of Greenpeace International. Most recently, Mendez-Montalvo was working with the United Nations Development Program and Freire with the Inter-American Commission of Women.
