The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is not likely to take action anytime soon on proposals that would ban flash orders and cap exchange fees. Heather Seidel, associate director of the SEC’s Division of Trading and Markets, told an options industry conference that the agency as “a lot on [its] plates now and in the foreseeable future,” and could not say when the proposals would be raised.
