Citigroup has appointed Doug Baird as vice chairman of equity capital markets for the Americas.

Citigroup has appointed Doug Baird as vice chairman of equity capital markets for the Americas, The Wall Street Journal reports. Baird will focus on setting the strategic direction for equity capital markets as well as advising corporate clients, financial sponsors and boardrooms on equity capital raising.

In the new role, Baird will work under John Chirico and Richard Zogheb, the co-heads of capital markets origination for the Americas. Previously, Baird served as managing director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He was previously working as co-head of equity capital markets at Deutsche Bank Securities.
