Schroders is launching a new commodity investment trust, a closed-ended investment company, domiciled in Guernsey. The Schroder Opus Commodity Fund will be managed by Schroders NewFinance Capital, a specialist absolute return multi-managers firm of Schroders. The fund will seek to outperform the DJ-UBS Commodity Total Return Index and will aim to provide 100% exposure to the benchmark index. It will be overseen by David Mooney, who joined Schroders NewFinance Capital in 2005 from Merrill Lynch, where he was responsible for proprietary investments in commodities funds.
