Wells Fargo is seeking to apply for a license to conduct yuan business in China, China Daily reports. The U.S. lender will primarily focus on trade processing and supporting its U.S. client’s needs in China. It has no plans to move into retail banking or other businesses in China. The California-based bank currently has 70 people working at a branch in Shanghai and another office with six people in Beijing.
