Ukrainian Exchange has begun trading in options contracts on April 26, 2011. The new instrument is a futures-style quarterly option on the Ukrainian stock index, UX Index Futures.
Early exercise is possible for the American style options contracts. Currently, options with settlement on June 15, 2011 and Sept. 15, 2011 are being traded on the Exchange, which is co-owned by Russian stock exchange RTS.
