Eskom Seeks $370M Loan for Green Projects

South African power utility, Eskom Holdings, is seeking a $370 million loan from African Development Bank.

South African power utility, Eskom Holdings, is seeking a $370 million loan from African Development Bank (AfDB), Bloomberg reports. The state-run company seeks to use the proceeds from the loan for green energy projects.

The debt will be for wind turbine project in the Western Cape province and a solar energy facility in the Northern Cape province. Sandton-based Eskom Holdings secured a $3.75B loan in April 2010 from World Bank for its expansion plans.
