Polaris May Launch China A-Share ETF

Taiwan’s largest issuer of ETFs, Polaris Financial Group, is planning to unveil the island’s first China A-share index-linked ETF.

Taiwan’s largest issuer of ETFs, Polaris Financial Group, is planning to unveil the island’s first China A-share index-linked ETF, The Wall Street Journal reports. The company will launch the fund once it receives an investment quota and approval from the China Securities Regulatory Commission under China’s QFII program. The ETF will track the performance of the Shanghai Stock Exchange 50 Index. Polaris is also planning to launch another ETF in Taiwan to track the MSCI Taiwan Index in the second quarter of 2011.
