Texas Teachers Names Executive Director

The $105 billion Teacher Retirement System of Texas has appointed Brian Guthrie as its new executive director.

The $105 billion Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) has appointed Brian Guthrie as its new executive director, PLANSPONSOR reports. In the new role, he will manage pension plan and related benefits for the sixth largest public pension fund in the U.S. Guthrie will replace Ronnie Jung, who will remain as executive liaison to the board of trustees during a transition period through Jan. 31, 2012. Guthrie has worked as TRS’ deputy director since September 2008.
