GSE Set Record Issuance In 2010

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac issued a record $1.4 billion in 2010, their fifth consecutive year of growth, according to FTN Financial, reports Housing Wire.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac issued a record $1.4 billion in 2010, their fifth consecutive year of growth, according to FTN Financial. It was the highest level since 2003, but, according to Jim Vogel of FTN, a feat that may not be repeated this year. Vogel said bond redemptions would be below last year’s levels, thus resulting in fewer new deals and fewer buyers.
