Peter Meurer, a former vice chairman of Citi Australia, is joining Nomura International to spearhead the Japanese investment bank’s expansion Down Under. “Without growth and success in Australia, we cannot achieve overall growth and success in Asia,” says Meurer, 61, who joins as chairman of investment banking in Australia. “We will offer our unrivaled coverage across Asia combined with coverage in Europe and the U.S.”
At Citi Australia, where Meurer worked for seven years, he grew both the investment banking and equities platforms and is known for the establishment of the Citi Australia and New Zealand equities conference held annually in London.
