Team debut: 2003 For a second consecutive year, Antonio Junqueira and his BTG Pactual group headline this list. From their offices in New York, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago and São Paulo, the four analysts monitor 24 regional stocks. Chilean power suppliers Empresa Nacional de Electricidad, better known as Endesa Chile, and Enersis were added back to their coverage portfolio in October with buy ratings, in part thanks to lower energy tariffs. The stocks outperformed their peers through late July, rising 23.3 percent, to 875.90 Chilean pesos, and 17.9 percent, to 191.61 pesos, respectively. Over the same period the sector climbed 11.8 percent. Junqueira, 31, believes that they are likely to fare even better going forward as increased availability of liquefied natural gas brings costs down. The analysts similarly favor Colombia’s Celsia. They began reporting on the energy provider in late July 2013, assigning the shares a buy rating thanks to new hydroelectric capacity and efficiency gains in its distribution system. A year later, Celsia’s stock had leaped 15.1 percent, to 6,190 Colombian pesos, while the sector gained 10.7 percent. “This is a team to watch,” attests one fund manager. Junqueira also co-leads, with Carlos Eduardo Sequeira, a runner-up team in Equity Strategy.p>
