São Paulo-based BRF is one of the largest food companies in the world. Founded in 2009 through the merger of Sadia and Perdigão, BRF is a leading exporter of animal protein, such as chicken and turkey, and also produces read-to-cook meals, cheese, margarine and other items. Products are distributed across 110 countries on five continents. Brands include Batavo, Elegê, Qualy, Perdix and Paty. The company’s name was changed from Brasil Foods to BRF in 2013, and the company employs more than 100,000 people.
