A growing number of hedge funds are becoming even more aggressive in using exchange-traded funds to make long bets on the direction of the broad market or an individual industry or to hedge with put options.

In the past most hedge funds using ETFs have been macro, multistrategy or eclectic funds that roamed the investment world, searching for value.
