State Street Global Advisors (SSgA), the investment management business of State Street Corp., has appointed Catherine Powers as managing director and head of fixed-income alpha strategies for North America and Sandeep Bhatia as head of fixed-income alpha strategies for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The duo reports to Bill Street, global head of fixed-income alpha strategies.
Most recently, Powers was with Standish Investment Management, where she headed the insurance client strategies group with a focus on customized fixed-income solutions. Bhatia, a senior portfolio manager specializing in credit markets at SSgA, joined from UBS Global Asset Management last year.
