Blackstone is seeking to raise $3 billion through a new fund, The Telegraph reports. The GSO Capital Opportunities Fund II will be launched by the private equity firm in partnership with GSO Capital Partners.

The proceeds are expected to be invested in private equity and other private transactions, replacing bank debt or as mezzanine funding. The firm is planning to market the fund to potential U.S. investors.
