Investec Asset Management has added a new investment grade debt portfolio to its range of emerging market debt funds, Investment Week reports. The offshore Investec GSF Emerging Markets Investment Grade Debt fund will target local currency debt markets to get returns from yield compression and currency appreciation.
The portfolio will acquire investment grade sovereign bonds denominated in local currencies, with a focus on developed emerging markets. The emerging markets debt team, led by Peter Eerdmans, will run the fund.
