Blackstone is planning to bid for a stake in Northern Rock, The Guardian reports. The private equity firm may offer £1 billion for the stake. Blackstone may bid alone or tie-up with another bidder for Northern Rock. Other interested bidder include Virgin Money, National Australia Bank, NBNK and Olivant.
