Morgan Stanley Asia (Singapore) Securities has joined the Singapore Mercantile Exchange (SMX) as a general clearing member. The membership will allow Morgan Stanley to trade, clear and settle both proprietary and customer accounts for its regional and global customers, including any other broker member or trade member of the exchange.
Morgan will use the SMX platform for the trading and clearing of commodity and currency derivative products across Asia. SMX, which provides multi-currency and multi-asset trading and clearing for products with guaranteed settlement and delivery, enables members to engage in futures trading for WTI Crude and Brent Crude.
