The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has received federal court approval to freeze the assets held by three defendants in North Carolina and a number of corporate entities controlled by them, Mondovisione reports. Keith Simmons, Bryan Coats, Jonathan Davey have been charged with fraudulent solicitation and misappropriation of customer funds in connection with a Ponzi scheme involving foreign currency exchange trading. The CFTC complaint alleges that the defendants devised a $35 million Ponzi fraudulent scheme, soliciting the funds from at least 240 individuals to invest in off-exchange forex through a purported Black Diamond trading platform. The corporate entities charged in the complaint include Black Diamond Capital Solutions, Black Diamond Holdings, Life Plus Group, Genesis Wealth Management.
