Morgan Stanley announces several changes in key executive positions, effective Jan. 1

Morgan Stanley announced several changes in key executive positions, effective Jan. 1, when James Gorman becomes CEO and president.

Colm Kelleher, CFO and head of global capital markets, and Paul Taubman, global head of investment banking, will become co-presidents of institutional securities. Ruth Porat, global head of financial institutions group, will become CFO. Thomas Nides, chief administrative officer, will add to his responsibilities that of COO.

Jim Rosenthal, head of firm-wide technology and operations will become COO of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and head of Morgan Stanley’s corporate strategy.
