Lone Pine’s Stephen Mandel elected chairman of Dartmouth’s board of trustees (Magazine Version)

Stephen Mandel, the founder of hedge fund firm Lone Pine Capital, has been elected chairman of Dartmouth College’s board of trustees.

Mandel, who graduated from Dartmouth in 1978, replaces Charles “Ed” Haldeman Jr., who graduated in 1970. “I am honored that my colleagues have asked me to serve as chairman of the board,” Mandel said in a statement.
