Good knight Rudy

He has been called Rudy the Rock and Mayor of the World for his inspirational leadership after the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Now add Rudy the Knight. Last month former Big Apple mayor Rudolph Giuliani received a hero’s welcome when he arrived in London to receive an honorary knighthood from Queen Elizabeth, who wished him “less stress in his life.” In a three-day tour of the capital, Giuliani met with business leaders to promote investment in New York, auctioned some of his own photographs of the Twin Towers to benefit victims of the disaster and met with Prime Minister Tony Blair and other leaders to thank them for their steadfast support. “You were our best friends at a time when we desperately needed friends,” Giuliani said. At a luncheon in the City of London, Giuliani received a testimonial plaque from Lord Levene, a former lord mayor whose World Trade Center disaster fund raised $7 million in Britain. The donations will pay for school tuition for 81 children of trade center victims and about 25 full scholarships at British universities for other survivors. Lifelong Noo Yawkah Giuliani took to British ways, particularly the lord mayor’s toastmaster, who introduced him with the traditional rap of a gavel and the cry “Pray silence.” Said Giuliani, “I think I’ll try it when I go back to Brooklyn.” The former mayor bellowed an experimental “Pray silence,” then mocked himself with the likely reply: “Shut up, you bum.”
