SEC Names Risk, Financial Innovation Head

The Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed Kathleen Hanley as deputy director and deputy chief economist for its risk, strategy and financial innovation division RiskFin.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has appointed Kathleen Hanley as deputy director and deputy chief economist for its risk, strategy and financial innovation division RiskFin. In her new role, Hanley will handle the unit’s economic analysis of policymaking, specifically cost-benefit analysis.

She will also take charge for directing and coordinating research activities. Hanley was earlier a senior financial economist in the SEC’s office of economic analysis and later in RiskFin.
