Atlas Shareholders OK $3.58B Chevron Bid

The shareholders of Pennsylvania-based Atlas Energy have approved a takeover bid from Chevron.

The shareholders of Pennsylvania-based Atlas Energy have approved a takeover bid from Chevron, Bloomberg reports. The California-based energy company had offered $3.58 billion for the acquisition.

About 100% of the shareholders voted in favor of the takeover. Atlas Energy, which is a leaseholder in the Marcellus Shale gas field, has a joint venture with Reliance Industries to drill in the Marcellus Shale.
