In August 2011 he upgraded Chubb Corp. from equal weight to overweight, at $54.13, on its strong balance sheet and aggressive share-buyback program. Through August 2012 shares of the Warren, New Jersey–based property/casualty company surged 36.5 percent, to $73.89, and outpaced the Standard & Poor’s sector benchmark by 13.1 percentage points.
