CalPERS Realigns Equities In Second Quarter

CalPERS has realigned its equity portfolio to include more international stocks in the second quarter, Reuters reports. The pension fund saw a return of 21.5% on the portfolio in the period, lower than its benchmark, which rose 23.9%.

The market value of CalPERS’ equity portfolio, which holds over 9,800 securities globally, is about $105.8 billion compared to total assets of $199.3 billion. Around 40% of the scheme’s total investments are held in U.S. equities, compared to about 20% in international equities.
