Wells Fargo Appoints EMEA Head

San Francisco–based lender Wells Fargo & Co. has named Jim Johnston as the new regional president for its Europe, the Middle East and Africa operations effective January.

San Francisco–based lender Wells Fargo & Co. has named Jim Johnston as the new regional president for its Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations effective January. He replaces Ken Petrilla, who will now become head of Global Banking Alliance Services in San Francisco. Based in London, Johnston will report to Richard Yorke, head of Wells Fargo’s international group.

Johnston will work alongside other Wells Fargo business leaders to serve commercial, corporate and financial institution customers in the EMEA region, boosting the company’s global network and expanded capabilities. Johnston was previously serving as executive vice president and chief credit officer at Wells Fargo, responsible for credit and risk for its government and institutional banking as well as wholesale counterparty credit groups.
