Egypt Appoints Stock Exchange Head

Mohamed Abdel Gawad Omran has been named the new chairman of the Egyptian Exchange.

Mohamed Abdel Gawad Omran has been named the new chairman of the Egyptian Exchange, Reuters reports. He was formerly deputy chairman of the stock exchange.

Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf appointed Omran as chairman and Khaled al-Nashar as deputy chairman of the exchange. Omran has succeeded Mohamed Abdel Salam, who headed the Egyptian bourse for a six-month term.
