The Rockefeller Foundation has committed a total of $500,000 to nonprofit start-up Social Finance.

The Rockefeller Foundation has committed a total of $500,000 to nonprofit start-up Social Finance, Business Journal reports. The two-year grant to the Boston-based company will help it develop a national social impact bond market.

Founded in January, Social Finance develops, finances, launches and manages social impact bonds in the U.S. The Rockefeller Foundation is a philanthropic organization and private foundation based in New York City.
