Permira is seeking to acquire a group of operations that have been put up for sale by Alcatel-Lucent, Reuters reports. The private equity firm is offering a total of $1.3 billion for the acquisition. The other participants in the bidding process were Avaya and Cisco.

Alcatel’s operations include software dealer Genesys and IP Telephony and an ethernet switching business. Qatalyst Partners is the lead advisor to the seller on the transaction.
