The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) and the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) are establishing new database of potential independent directors. The Diverse Director DataSource will offer companies a facility to recruit individuals for a director’s seat.
CalPERS and CalSTRS are working along with advisory panel of institutional investors, diversity groups, companies, academics and search firms on the database. The funds have commissioned The Corporate Library, an independent corporate governance researcher, to develop the Diverse Director DataSource.
