Illinois SURS Starts Asset-Liability Study

Illinois State Universities Retirement System has started an asset-liability study for its $13.4 billion defined benefit fund.

Illinois State Universities Retirement System (SURS) has started an asset-liability study for its $13.4 billion defined benefit fund, Pensions & Investments reports. The system’s board expects the results of the study to be presented in June this year.

The retirement system, which last conducted a study in early 2008, carries out a study every three to five years. SURS has appointed the systems investment consultant, Callan Associates, to assist during the study.
