Kirin Unit To Buy ProStrakan For £292M

Japanese pharmaceutical company, Kyowa Hakko Kirin, will acquire Scotland’s ProStrakan Group.

Japanese pharmaceutical company, Kyowa Hakko Kirin, will acquire Scotland’s ProStrakan Group, The Wall Street Journal reports. The subsidiary of Japanese beverage maker, Kirin Holdings, will pay 130 pence for each share, totaling about £292 million, for the Scottish company.

The acquisition will help Kyowa strengthen its core business areas and expand its cancer-drug business outside Japan. The deal is expected to be completed by June 2011.
