The U.S. commodity regulator, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, is seeking to review a plan to curb speculation in raw materials, including oil, gold and wheat, Bloomberg reports. The newly proposed rules will restrict the number of contracts traders can hold.

The plan seeks to limit traders to 25% of deliverable supply in the contract nearest to expiration. CFTC is planning to discuss position limits at their next meeting on January 13.
