Heather Bellini ISI Group

Heather Bellini spent the past four years in first place as an analyst with UBS. She moved to ISI Group in August 2009 and captures second-team honors this year, thanks in part to doing “a good job of understanding Street expectations and what is factored into a stock’s price,” according to one fund manager. Bellini launched coverage of VMware, a developer of virtualization software (that is, programs not dependent on an underlying proprietary operating system), with a buy rating in September 2009, at $38.75, on rising revenues at the Palo Alto, California–based company. By late August, VMware’s stock price had more than doubled, to $78.42, and trumped the sector by 103.3 percentage points.
