Irish authorities have postponed plans for its lenders to sell off large portfolios of loans, Financial Times reports. Irish banks were previously seeking to sell around $139 billion worth of legacy assets.

The European Union and the International Monetary Fund had also included $41 billion of contingent capital for the lenders to cover potential losses from selling assets. Ireland’s biggest banks will continue to be dependent on emergency funding from the European Central Bank due to the delay.
