The Bermuda International Business Association has developed a new product whereby BIBA can approve and list funds on the Bermuda Stock Exchange in just two weeks. Julie McClean, a partner at Conyers Dill & Pearman, who sat on the product development committee, told HedgeWorld that BIBA acted on the feedback from companies that complained about tougher regulatory approaches at larger exchanges around the world that affected a fund’s ability to pursue its fund strategy. One feature of the so-called “Launch n’ List” process is that funds can save time by simultaneously applying for incorporation and listing on the Bermuda Stock Exchange. Already, says BSX President and Chairman Greg Wojciechowski, issuers from around the world are coming to Bermuda to incorporate.
