Former SAC Analyst’s New Fund Attracts Canadian Pension Plans

Goldcrest Farm Trust Advisors, co-founded by a former hedge fund analyst at SAC Capital Advisors, is attracting Canadian pension fund money to buy farmland in the U.S., according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and PSP Investments have invested alongside Goldcrest in the new fund, which raised more than $300 million as a privately-held real estate investment trust, the person said.
