Bruce Zimmerman, the former chief investment officer of the University of Texas Investment Management Co., has been appointed CIO of Dalio Family Office and Philanthropies, according to a LinkedIn post.

The ex-UTIMCO chief’s LinkedIn page says that he joined the family office and foundation of Ray Dalio and his wife Barbara this month. Representatives for Bridgewater Associates, Dalio’s hedge fund, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Zimmerman had served as CEO and CIO of the University of Texas endowment from 2007 until October 2016. During that period, the fund’s assets grew from $23.5 billion to just under $37 billion.

Under Zimmerman’s tenure, UTIMCO had invested with Bridgewater, according to a Reuters report at the time of his departure.

Since his exit from UTIMCO, Zimmerman has served on the boards of the Beneficent Company Group, Vistra Energy, and Oaktree Strategic Income Corporation and Oaktree Strategic Lending Corporation, according to his LinkedIn page. He has also served as vice chairman of the board at Commonfund.
