Aberdeen May Float Small-Cap EQ Fund

Aberdeen Asset Management is seeking to roll out a global small-cap equities fund, Investment Week reports. The fund, which may be launched early next year, will be managed by Stephen Docherty, who is head of the £21 billion global equities range at the global investment manager.

The new vehicle will be based on the company’s U.S.-domiciled £32.3 million Aberdeen Global Small Cap fund rolled out in September 2009. Aberdeen’s small-cap range for U.K. investors comprises the £140 million U.K.Smaller Companies and the £79 million Global Japanese Smaller Companies funds.
