San Diego Foundation Gets $5M Donation

Retired real estate executive Malin Burnham has donated $5 million to the San Diego Foundation.

Retired real estate executive Malin Burnham has donated $5 million to the San Diego Foundation, SignOnSanDiego.com reports. The money will be used to support a permanent organization to maintain, promote and implement “Our Regional San Diego Vision”, due for completion next year.

The Malin Burnham Center for Civic Engagement will be housed at the foundation’s offices in Point Loma and will be led by Bob Dynes, former president of the University of California. The Burnham grant will provide about $250,000 per year and the remaining $2 million operating budget will be given by the foundation.
