SECOND TEAM

Sara Delfim & team  BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research

BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research captured the top spot last year in Aerospace, Transportation & Industrials. We divided that sector into Capital Goods and Transportation, and BofA lands in second place in the latter category under the direction of Sara Delfim, who also co-directs the No. 3 team in Capital Goods. Working out of São Paulo, Delfim’s two-member crew upgraded the American depositary receipts of Mexico City’s Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste in December from neutral to buy, as a bargain at $53.05. The analysts cited the lack of competition, thanks to government contracts allowing the company exclusive rights to operate key airports in southeastern Mexico. The stock flew 12.4 percent, to $59.62, through July. “Sara is the most helpful analyst,” marvels one fan.
