Wells Fargo will hire 25 investment bankers from Citadel Securities, including the unit’s head Brian Maier. Based in New York, Maier will work under Wells Fargo’s co-heads of investment banking Rob Engel and Jonathan Weiss. Maier is joined by senior bankers, including Stephen Gerson and Aviv Laurence. The hiring is part of an agreement between Wells Fargo and Citadel, under which Citadel will also transfer its related banking business to the lender.
