Bhavtosh Vajpayee CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets Hong Kong–based Bhavtosh Vajpayee claims second place for CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets. “There is nobody better nor more durable than Bhavtosh,” insists one booster. In January 2010, Vajpayee dubbed Bangalore’s Infosys Technologies (which in June 2011 shortened its name to Infosys) his top pick, at 2,562.78 rupees, predicting a surge in outsourcing would continue. Shares of the high-tech supply-chain manager had already more than doubled in the preceding year, but the analyst stuck to his guns — and he was right. By early April, when Vajpayee discontinued coverage in anticipation of his departure from CLSA for Barclays Capital, the stock had soared to Rs3,260.35, for a gain of 27.2 percent.
