The Singapore Exchange is seeking to launch circuit breakers.

The Singapore Exchange (SGX) is seeking to launch circuit breakers, The Wall Street Journal reports. The circuit breakers will act as a safeguard to help prevent swings in stock prices during times of volatility.

The bourse is aiming to apply the breakers to all the stocks in the Straits Times Index and the MSCI Singapore Free Index. The breakers will also apply to exchange-traded funds based on the indices and operate during trading hours.
