Gates Foundation Grants $42M For Sanitation

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has set up a strategy to introduce sanitation services to deprived people in the developing world.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has set up a strategy to introduce sanitation services to deprived people in the developing world. The foundation is also providing $42 million in new grants for inventing means to capture and store waste and process it into reusable energy, fertilizer and fresh water.

The U.S. Agency for International Development will serve as one of the foundation’s partners and jointly contribute $8.5 million to the four-year venture. Through the recent grants, the foundation’s commitment to water, sanitation and hygiene efforts will reach over $265 million.
